Chris Noriega
Agent, Verve Talent and Literary Agency | Represent! How to Find the Right Agent, Manager, and Attorney
Noriega had a major career change at the age of 31, leaving San Francisco where he worked in the finance industry to fulfill his lifelong dream and pursue a career in the entertainment industry. After starting in the Gersh mailroom, the USC business school grad made the move to Verve in 2012 and was quickly promoted to agent the following year.
Since then, Noriega has had a meteoric rise in the television literary department at Verve. His strength lies in his ability to identify new comedic talent with a unique voice and pair them with major networks. Noriega’s clients include Shion Takeuchi (INSIDE JOB), Tom Sheppard (ROBOT CHICKEN), Ben Jones (SMASH), and Peter Ramsey (INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE).
Chris also represents writer/directors Andrew Rhymer and Jeff Chan, whose feature film debut, PLUS ONE, premiered at Tribeca and won the Audience Award. Despite developing a strong roster of upper level writers, Noriega has made a name for himself by working with young writers and breaking them into the business. He works with up-and-coming writers Sono Patel (THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, CRAZY EX GIRLFRIEND) and Tamara Carter (P-VALLEY, CITY ON A HILL).
In addition to representing talent, Noriega focuses on the people inside Verve. He started an assistant training program, designed to educate the younger generation about Verve’s business and the future of the entertainment industry as a whole. The initiative gives assistants the opportunity to engage with agents and clients both in and out of the office. He extends invites to client comedy shows, UCB performances, premieres and even hosts screenings of client films in the office for trainees.
